This acrylicl painting of a thoroughbred racehorse, , started as a challenge in the art group  Paard Verzameld, that Lena is a part of. The artists were given a. reference photo of Kathy Russel and challenged to make their own take of it. This resulted in this acrylic paining made very loosely and layered style. Lena also made the painting Eight at Speed for this Challenge.

ABOUT THE ARTIST 

Lena is a former equestrian that has always been practicing art her whole life, she expresses herself in many different medias and  her choice to portray horses was of course very dear to her heart.  Born in Sweden, she moved around a lot and is currently situated in  Wellington Florida where she and her husband lives with their two Rhodesian Ridgback boys.
